The horse's raised forelegs and muscular neck are rendered with vigor characteristic of fifth-century Philistian coinage. Two Aramaic letters, Ayin and Zayin, appear in the upper left field, serving as a mint or magistrate identifier. The design is set on a flat, unbordered field within the irregular flan. |
