Obverse description Facing gorgoneion (Medusa head) rendered in archaic style, with broad flat features, protruding tongue, and serpentine locks radiating around the visage filling the round flan. The apotropaic mask is depicted full-face, characteristic of the early classical coinage of Parion, with the hair rendered as stylised coils across the upper field.
