| Obverse description | Bare head of a youthful male, possibly the hero Peloros, facing right, rendered in fine archaic-to-early classical style with elaborately curled hair arranged in tight ringlets across the crown and nape. The fleshy, idealised features display almond-shaped eyes and full lips characteristic of Thessalian die-cutting of the mid-fourth century BC. The portrait is set within a dotted border occupying the full flan, with a broad flat field framing the head. |
