Reverse description Quadripartite incuse square occupying the full reverse field, divided by raised ridges into four recessed rectangular compartments of unequal depth, a hallmark of early Archaic and Classical Greek hammered coinage. The incuse punch impression is bold and deeply struck, with each quadrant showing a slightly raised boss or irregular surface texture resulting from the manual striking process. No legend or subsidiary device is present. This reverse type is typical of Ionian silver coinage of the late Archaic and early Classical periods, serving a functional rather than decorative purpose.
