| Obverse description | Draped female head facing right, her hair elaborately dressed and crowned with a wreath of ears of wheat, rendered in fine Hellenistic style. Three dolphins are arranged around the effigy in the field, serving as secondary devices characteristic of Emporitane coinage. The portrait displays naturalistic facial features with a pronounced ear and carefully modeled tresses falling behind the neck. The style reflects the strong Greek artistic influence of the Phocaean colony of Emporion on the Iberian coast. |
