| Reverse description | A large incuse square divided into four triangular compartments by diagonal lines meeting at a central point, creating a windmill or pinwheel pattern characteristic of early Sicilian coinage of the Archaic period. The incuse square is framed by a plain recessed border within the flan. The alternating raised and sunken triangular sections exhibit the typical early Greek incuse technique employed in Magna Graecia and Sicily during the late sixth century BC. No inscription is present on the reverse. |
