| Obverse description | Draped female head in the Syracusan-Arethusa tradition, facing right, laureate with a wreath of wheat ears; the design is closely derived from the Persephone-Arethusa type popularized on Syracusan coinage. Two dolphins are disposed to the right of the effigy and one dolphin to the left, serving as subsidiary devices in the field, a hallmark of Emporitane coinage imitating its Sicilian prototypes. |
