Obverse description Janiform double head composed of two confronted facing profiles: to the right, the laureate and bearded head of Zeus, and to the left, the diademed head of Hera. The juxtaposition of the two deities, rendered in archaic Greek style, forms a striking symmetrical composition characteristic of Tenedian coinage. The portrait heads are shown in profile, facing outward in opposite directions, with finely rendered hair and facial features typical of late Archaic to early Classical Greek die-cutting.
