Drachm

Paros, the Cycladic island best known in antiquity for its translucent white marble, operated a mint whose output was modest by Aegean standards. By the late third century BC the island was firmly within the Macedonian political orbit, and coinage from this period reflects the reduced autonomy of smaller island mints caught between the competing pressures of Macedon, Rhodes, and the expanding Roman presence in Greek waters.

Few die studies of Parian silver from this transitional period exist, leaving precise chronology within the bracket largely conjectural.
