| Obverse description | Facing head of Hermes rendered in three-quarter view, slightly turned to the left, wearing a broad-brimmed petasos helmet adorned with a beaded border along the rim. The hair falls in loose locks beneath the helmet, framing the youthful, finely modelled face. A caduceus is partially visible to the lower left of the neck, serving as an identifying attribute of the deity. The portrait is executed in a bold, somewhat archaic style characteristic of Thracian civic coinage of the mid-fourth century BC. The field is plain, with no legend on the obverse. |
