To the left of the grain appears the Greek letter Epsilon (Ε) and to the right the letter Theta (Θ), together forming an abbreviated ethnic or magistrate's mark. The incuse technique imparts a deeply recessed, geometric framing to the entire reverse design, consistent with archaic and early Classical Greek minting practice. |
