Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing left, wearing a crested Attic helmet decorated with a Skylla figure on the bowl, a pendant earring, and a pearl necklace. The goddess is rendered in fine Tarentine style characteristic of the late civic coinage period. Behind the neck, a monogram of ΑΡ appears in the field, serving as a magistrate's or engraver's mark.

Reverse description An owl with closed wings and head facing forward stands to the right atop an olive branch, the traditional Athenian symbol here adapted within Tarentine iconography. The ethnic legend ΤΑΡΑΝΤΙ appears in the field, identifying the issuing city, accompanied by the magistrate's monogram ΜΙ to the right of the bird. The composition is rendered in a compact, carefully detailed style consistent with late Tarentine silver coinage of the mid-third to early second century BC.
