Aanvullende informatie

Kromna was one of several small Paphlagonian towns that Mithridates of Pontus systematically absorbed into his expanding kingdom during the late fourth and early third centuries BC. Its independent coinage, of which this drachm is a product, belongs to a window that closes precisely when that autonomy ends — making the type inherently terminal, with no later civic issues to continue the series.
