Anaktorion was a Corinthian colony on the Ambracian Gulf whose coinage closely followed Corinthian weight standards — a deliberate alignment with the commercial networks of the mother city. The city's mint operated under Corinthian cultural and monetary influence for much of its history, though issues from the late fourth and early third centuries BC show increasing regional independence in style.
BMC Greek 70 places this drachm within a well-documented sequence, but surviving specimens are genuinely scarce.
