Drachm

Rhaukos was a minor Cretan polis whose coinage is known almost entirely from scattered find contexts across the island. The city's exact location remained disputed among scholars for much of the nineteenth century, with some conflating it with nearby Knossos before inscriptional and numismatic evidence established it as a distinct community in the Knossia region. Issues attributable to this mint are few in number and rarely appear on the market.
