Obverse description Laureate head of Zeus facing slightly to the right, rendered in a bold, if somewhat crude, provincial style characteristic of Lydian civic coinage of the mid-second century BC. The facial features, including the heavy brow and flowing beard, are vigorously modeled in high relief. Radiate lines extend outward from the portrait into the surrounding field. The flan is irregular with typical hammered fabric.
