Obverse description Thessalian cavalryman mounted on a horse prancing left, clad in chlamys and petasos, with a short sword suspended from a baldric at his side. The rider controls his mount with the left hand grasping the reins, while his right hand carries a spear directed forward and downward. In the lower field, the letters IA appear in small characters, with a diminutive A visible to the upper right. The design is enclosed within a border of dots.
