Obverse description Forepart of a horse rearing to the right, rendered in bold archaic relief with musculature clearly articulated. The horse's head is turned slightly upward, with the forelegs raised in a dynamic prancing pose. The ethnic abbreviation ΠY appears in the lower field beneath the horse, with a small letter N visible to the right. The design occupies nearly the entire flan, with the horse filling the circular field in a vigorous, energetic composition typical of Thessalian coinage of the late fifth century BC.
