| Beschrijving keerzijde | Laureate head of Apollo facing slightly to the right, depicted nearly en face, with long wavy locks of hair falling to either side of the neck and a laurel wreath crowning the head. The portrait is rendered in fine high-relief with strong modelling of the facial features, characteristic of the skilled die-engraving of fourth-century Akarnanian coinage. The field is plain. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Anaktorion was a Corinthian colony at the mouth of the Ambracian Gulf, and its coinage follows the Corinthian weight standard — a deliberate alignment with the mother city that reflected both economic integration and political dependence well into the fourth century. The city was contested repeatedly by Ambracia and Acarnanian League factions, and its coin output was never large. The BCD collection, assembled by a single dedicated specialist over decades, remains the primary reference point for distinguishing the finer die varieties within this series.
