| Obverse description | Head of the nymph Larissa facing right, depicted in three-quarter view, her hair elaborately bound and coiled at the nape of the neck with loose curls framing the face. The portrait is rendered in the fine Classical style characteristic of Thessalian coinage of the late fifth century BC, with naturalistic facial features and delicate modeling. The field is plain, with a beaded border visible along the coin's lower edge. The workmanship reflects the accomplished die-cutting associated with Larissaean silver coinage of this period. |
