| Obverse description | Pegasus, the winged horse, depicted in full flight to the left with wings raised and forelegs extended, rendered in fine high relief characteristic of Corinthian coinage. The musculature of the body is naturalistically modeled, with clearly articulated wing feathers. Beneath the body of Pegasus appears the Corinthian civic control mark koppa (Ϙ) in the lower field. The flan is irregular and slightly ovoid, typical of the hammered technique employed for this series. |
