Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena in right profile, rendered in the Athenian style with the goddess wearing a crested Attic helmet adorned with a decorative scroll pattern. The eye is rendered in archaic frontal convention within an otherwise profile bust. The cheek-guard of the helmet is raised, and the hair falls in wavy locks behind the neck. The workmanship reflects the strong Athenian numismatic influence prevalent in Philistian coinage of the Persian period.
