| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic style with finely engraved curling hair bound by a laurel wreath. The portrait occupies the central field of the flan, with naturalistic facial features typical of late Pontic Greek coinage. The neck is bare, and the bust is truncated just below the chin. The field is otherwise plain, with no additional devices or legends. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | A filleted thyrsos — the staff of Dionysos — depicted diagonally across the field, its pine-cone head visible at upper right and its shaft bound with a fillet or ribbon. The civic ethnic legend ΦΑΝΑΓΟ / ΡΙΤΩΝ is inscribed in two lines, divided by the shaft of the thyrsos, in neat Greek majuscules. The composition is characteristic of autonomous civic issues of Phanagoreia, associating the city with the Dionysiac cult prevalent in the Bosporan region. |
