| Obverse description | Draped bust of Hera facing right, her hair elaborately arranged and bound in a sphendone (close-fitting cap or headband), with loose curling locks falling along the neck. The facial features are rendered in fine Classical Greek style, with a serene profile, almond-shaped eye, and softly modeled cheek. The field is smooth and unlettered, consistent with the coinage of the sanctuary at Olympia. |
