Obverse description At center, the crowned royal arms of France (three fleurs-de-lis) are flanked by two crowned salamanders, the whole enclosed within a trefoil cartouche. Small trefoil clovers ornament the spandrels between the lobes of the trefoil. The encircling Latin legend runs along the outer periphery of the coin, terminating with the mint letter M for Toulouse.

Reverse description A cross pattee divides the field into four quarters, each alternately occupied by a crown or a crowned salamander, all contained within a quatrefoil frame. The spandrels between the lobes of the quatrefoil display two clovers and two crowns in alternating positions. The encircling Latin devotional legend runs along the outer periphery, terminating with the mint letter M for Toulouse.
