| Obverse description | Crowned quartered shield of arms occupying the central field, divided into four quarters displaying heraldic devices associated with the House of Nassau-Orange, including a lion passant and additional charges. The shield is surmounted by a royal crown. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, reading PH GVILL IIII D G PRINC AVRAIC, identifying Philip William as Prince of Orange by the grace of God. The overall execution is characteristic of late 16th-century hammered billon coinage from the Principality of Orange. |

| Reverse description | A bold long cross with flared terminals divides the reverse field into four quadrants, each containing a small heraldic beast or decorative charge. The date 1594 appears in the legend alongside the motto MANC TENEBO PIETAT IVST, a reference to the motto of the House of Nassau-Orange, proclaiming piety and justice. The legend encircles the entire design within the coin's border, consistent with standard hammered douzain typology of the period. |
