| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, depicted in high relief with a Corinthian-style crested helmet covering the crown and brow. The facial features, though worn, retain visible modelling of the cheek, jaw, and chin typical of Italic Hellenistic die-cutting. The neck truncation is plain, and the surrounding field is devoid of inscription or additional devices. The coin's irregular flan and heavy green patination are consistent with southern Italian bronze coinage of the late third century BC. |
