| 裏面の説明 | A single large fleur-de-lis occupies the centre of the field, serving as the royal emblem of France. The circular legend commences at approximately 7 o'clock and runs clockwise, giving the denomination, the mint name (Lorrain, referring to the Stenay mint), and the date. The legend is not encircled by an inner border, and an outer beaded rim frames the design. |

The Stenay mint operated in the Meuse valley under constant pressure during the final years of Louis XIII's reign, a period when French forces were deeply committed to the Thirty Years' War and copper coinage production was increasingly decentralized to provincial mints struggling to meet military expenditure demands. The 14th type represents one of the last evolutionary stages of the Double Tournois series, which Louis XIII's administration had been progressively modifying since 1610.
Stenay's output for this type was limited, and the mint itself would lose much of its operational significance within a decade of these strikes.
