| 表面の説明 | Youthful bust of adolescent King Louis XIII facing right, laureate, draped and armored, with a prominent ruff collar. The effigy conveys a childlike portrait typical of the early coinage of his reign. The bust is set within a beaded inner circle, with the Latin legend surrounding it in the outer field. |

The fourth type of Louis XIII's double tournois represents one of several rapid design revisions pushed through in the opening years of his reign, when the young king — still under the regency influence of his mother Marie de Médicis until the assassination of Concino Concini in 1617 — had yet to consolidate a stable coinage identity. Lyon's mint, operating under the mint mark "D", was one of the more active provincial copper-striking facilities of the period, serving the commercial traffic of the Rhône corridor.
The 1617–1618 window for this type is narrow enough that surviving examples with clear mint marks command attention from specialists working the Louis XIII copper series.
