Obverse description Central trilobe frame enclosing three fleurs-de-lis arranged in heraldic fashion, with annulets positioned in the cusps of the trilobe. The design is set within a beaded inner circle. A circular legend in Gothic uncial lettering runs along the periphery, reading the royal title of Louis, King of the Franks.
