| Popis líce | Central field displays a crowned fleur-de-lis set within a double-lobed or trefoil-shaped inner border, typical of late medieval French feudal coinage. The crown surmounting the fleur-de-lis is rendered in a Gothic style characteristic of the Bourbon lordship. A circular beaded inner border frames the central device, with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery. The inscription reads IOH[ANNES] DVX BORBONI[E] T[REVORENSIS] D[OMINUS], identifying John II as Duke of Bourbon and Lord of Trévoux. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, consistent with hand-struck hammered production of the late fifteenth century. |
