| 背面描述 | Three fleurs-de-lis arranged two above one within a plain inner circle of approximately 13 mm diameter, the classic heraldic arms of France. The legend commences at 12 o'clock, preceded by a potent cross. The mintmark C for the Toulouse mint, struck under mintmaster Pierre Cathelan (1576-1584), appears in the legend followed by three pellets; the mint guarantee mark (fleur) is attributed to moneyer Nicolas Raffin (1573-1580). |

The double tournois was revived as a copper denomination under Henri III by royal edict in 1577, ending a long gap in French copper coinage — the crown had resisted base-metal coin production for decades, fearing counterfeiting and public rejection. Toulouse was one of the original authorized mints in that edict, assigned the mark M.
Type 1A represents the earliest die configuration for this issue, before subsequent edicts revised the module and lettering layout. Toulouse examples from 1579–1580 are notably scarcer than Paris output from the same window.
