| Obverse description | Central cross pattée enclosed within a closed diadem or wreath rendered as an ornamental circular border, the whole surrounded by a dotted border. The Greek royal legend BACIΛEΩC HPΩΔOY (of King Herod) is distributed around the field. The design is characteristic of the Herodian mint's adaptation of Hellenistic motifs to Jewish royal coinage, executed in a bold if somewhat irregular hammered style. |

| Reverse description | A ceremonial tripod table depicted in full face, its three legs clearly rendered, flanked on either side by upright palm branches curving outward toward the coin's edge. A dotted border encircles the entire design. The tripod and palm branches are symbols of Hellenistic royal and religious authority, rendered in the typical flat, schematic style of Herodian bronze coinage. The overall composition is centered within the flan. |
