| Reverse description | Central field dominated by a large cross pattee with flared terminals, set within an inner beaded circle and surrounded by a series of small crescents or lis ornaments in the angles between the cross arms, consistent with the double parisis type. The cross is boldly struck in high relief against a flat field. The circumferential legend MONETA DVPLEX is inscribed in Latin characters between the inner and outer circles. The flan is irregular and slightly clipped, as is common for hammered billon coinage of the Valois period. The reverse design follows the standard typology established for Parisian monetary issues of Philippe VI. |
