Obverse description Draped bust of Pope Paul V facing right, enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the armorial shield of Vice-Legate Joseph Ferrier positioned below the effigy. The date 1608 is incorporated into the outer legend, which encircles the entire design in Latin capital letters. The bust is rendered in a formal, high-relief ecclesiastical style typical of early seventeenth-century papal coinage.
