Four curved foliate branches or lily sprays fill the angles between the cross arms, lending a rich, symmetrical appearance to the field. The date 1587 appears within the circumferential Latin devotional legend, which is struck between a toothed inner and outer border. The engraving is bold and well-centered, consistent with the quality of Trévoux mint production under the Dombes principality.
