| Beschrijving voorzijde | Full-length frontal effigy of William III of Bavaria, Count of Hainaut, standing erect beneath an ornate Gothic canopy with flanking pinnacles and decorative columns. The count is crowned and robed in elaborately detailed armour and a flowing mantle, holding a sceptre in his right hand and a globus cruciger or similar attribute in his left. He stands upon a stepped platform decorated with small crosses or fleurs-de-lis. The entire composition is rendered in the refined Gothic style characteristic of late 14th-century Low Countries coinage, with the surrounding circular legend in uncial Latin lettering separated from the central type by a beaded inner border. |
