| Beschrijving voorzijde | A crowned Gothic letter E occupies the central field, flanked by fleurs-de-lis in the quarters, all executed in a bold relief characteristic of hammered medieval coinage. A crown surmounts the central device, rendered in stylised form typical of Aquitainian issues of the period. The peripheral legend is struck in uncial Gothic lettering and reads EDVARDVS REX AnG LIE, identifying Edward as King of England. The coin is struck on an irregular flan with a beaded inner border partially visible around the circumference. |
