Reverse description A detailed landscape scene in low relief depicts a steam locomotive with carriages travelling right through a mountainous terrain, with rocky formations to the left and vegetation in the foreground. Above the scene, a ribbon scroll bears the legend EVERY MOUNTAIN SHALL BE MADE LOW. Below the scene, the engraver's signature W. BARBER F. appears at left, and a two-line inscription in the exergue identifies the issuing authority.
