Part of a small-format silver series issued by the Solomon Islands — a Pacific nation with no historical connection to Copenhagen — using its nominal monetary authority to produce collectibles for the European bullion and numismatic gift market. The Royal Danish Mint struck coins under contract arrangements of this kind regularly in the 2010s, producing low-denomination, low-weight silver pieces for foreign sovereigns with essentially no domestic circulation infrastructure for such items.
