Obverse description Facing left, the wreathed effigy of the goddess Tanit rendered in fine Hellenistic style, her hair bound with a wreath of corn ears symbolising fertility and abundance. The bust is adorned with a beaded necklace and a distinctive triple-drop earring, characteristic iconographic attributes of the Punic deity. The facial features are sensitively engraved, with clearly defined brow, eye, and cheek, reflecting strong Sicilian Greek artistic influence. The field surrounding the effigy is plain and unlettered, consistent with the aniconic Punic coinage tradition of this period.
