Reverse description Central field displays a quartered shield or cross pattée dividing the field into four quadrants, each containing heraldic devices associated with the Crown of Aragon, rendered within an inner beaded circle. The composition is consistent with the Aragonese royal arms as employed on Majorcan billon issues. A surrounding peripheral legend in Gothic lettering reads ALFONSUS DEI GRACI, referencing King Alfonso V ruling by the grace of God. The flan is irregular and the die alignment is characteristic of hand-hammered medieval coinage. Overall style and execution are consistent with mid-fifteenth century Majorcan mint production.
