Obverse description Crowned and draped bust of King Pedro I facing left, depicted in a stylized Gothic manner characteristic of mid-14th-century Castilian coinage. The king wears an elaborate crown and royal mantle, rendered with fine detail typical of the Seville mint's hammered technique. The effigy is set within a beaded inner circle, with the royal title legend in Gothic Latin letters running continuously around the periphery between the inner beaded border and an outer toothed rim.
