Reverse description Quartered shield bearing the arms of Castile and León arranged in alternating quarters: the castle of Castile (a triple-towered gothic fortress) in the first and fourth quarters, and the lion rampant of León in the second and third quarters. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, with the royal title legend in Gothic Latin letters running around the periphery between the inner beaded border and an outer toothed rim. The overall design follows the established heraldic conventions of the Castilian-Leonese monarchy.
