| Obverse description | Central device depicts a triple-towered Gothic castle, rendered in high relief with battlements clearly defined, emblematic of the Kingdom of Castile. The castle is set within a beaded inner circle, with the mint mark 'S' (Sevilla) visible in the lower field beneath the castle. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, reading in Gothic script characteristic of 14th-century Castilian coinage. The overall design faithfully reproduces the heraldic style of the original Dobla of Alfonso XI. |
