正面描述 Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet adorned with a coiled serpent on the bowl. A thunderbolt device appears in the lower field below the neck truncation. The portrait is rendered in fine late Classical Greek style, with strong, precise engraving characteristic of the Miletan mint.

附加信息

This distater was struck at Miletus during the final campaign years, when Alexander's mobile mints were producing gold at a pace driven by the sheer logistical demand of maintaining an army across Persia and into Asia. Miletus, reconquered early in the campaign, became one of several western Anatolian mints reactivated specifically to convert Persian treasury bullion into Macedonian coinage.

The two-year window for this issue reflects output concentrated just before Alexander's death in Babylon in June 323 BC, after which mint operations fragmented rapidly among the Diadochi.
