Obverse description A Phoenician pentekonter (war galley) advances to the left, depicted in profile with oars extended and a row of shields along the hull rendered in fine relief. Below the vessel, five stylized waves rendered as bold zigzag lines fill the lower field, conveying motion at sea. A Phoenician date inscription appears above the ship in the upper field, occupying the space between the mast and the dotted border. The composition is framed by a beaded border, consistent with the refined engraving tradition of the Sidonian mint under Achaemenid suzerainty.
