Obverse description Central field displays a bold Arabic legend in angular naskh script, arranged in multiple lines within a plain border. The inscription occupies the majority of the flan, with additional marginal text running along the periphery of the irregularly shaped planchet. The striking is characteristic of Ottoman hammered coinage, with some weakness at the edges due to the hand-striking technique. The relief is moderately high, with the legends standing proud of the flat field.
