Obverse description Central field contains a multi-line Arabic Kufic inscription arranged in three horizontal registers within a double linear square frame, itself enclosed within a circular dotted border. The inscription reads the shahada formula referencing Muhammad as the unlettered Prophet. The surrounding annular margin bears an additional Arabic legend. The overall design is typical of Abbasid hammered silver dirhams, with angular Kufic script struck on an irregular flan.
