| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse field is entirely occupied by a four-line Arabic inscription in bold Naskh script, arranged horizontally across the flan. The legend reads: 'al-Sultan al-A'zam / Toqta Bek / al-'Adl / Darb Saray', proclaiming the supreme sultan Toqta Bek the Just and identifying the Saray mint. The lettering is raised in high relief, with individual characters boldly rendered and separated by small pellets used as line dividers. The coin is bordered by a peripheral circle of pellets enclosing the inscriptional field, consistent with standard Golden Horde hammered silver coinage of this period. |
